THE ROLE

We are looking for an Architectural Drafter to join our team part-time, with the intention of growing into a full-time position. This is a technical role at the heart of how our design work becomes real, translating the vision of our design team into accurate, complete, and permit-ready documentation. Your drawings are the bridge between design intent and what actually gets built.

We want someone who takes precision seriously, communicates early and often, and understands that a clean drawing set is not just a deliverable,  it is a commitment to every contractor, client, and vendor who relies on it.

AT A GLANCE

Location: North Salt Lake City, Utah — in-office, with some remote flexibility

Schedule: Part-time to start, with room to grow full-time

Project Types: Residential remodels, new construction, commercial

Compensation: Commensurate with experience — we are open to entry or mid-level

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Drafting & Documentation

> Produce construction documents for residential remodels, new construction, and commercial projects

> Prepare and assemble permit sets, ensuring all sheets are complete and compliant

> Draft space planning and floor plan drawings, including existing conditions, demo plans, and proposed layouts

> Produce furniture and millwork drawings — shop drawings, elevations, and specifications for custom pieces and built-ins

> Maintain organized drawing files with consistent naming conventions and version control

> Revise drawings promptly based on team or client feedback

Collaboration & Communication

> Work directly with Ale Coto on day-to-day project assignments and priorities

> Coordinate with the design team to ensure drawings reflect current design intent and client selections

> Collaborate with the construction team to ensure documents are buildable and field-ready

> Flag discrepancies or unclear scope before drawings reach the field

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Need to Have

> Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit — fluency in at least one, working knowledge of the other

> Experience producing construction documents and permit sets

> Ability to draft space plans, floor plans, furniture and millwork drawings

> Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to file organization

> Clear written and verbal communication skills

> Understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and building codes

> Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Nice to Have

> Experience in a design-build or interior design firm

> Familiarity with luxury residential or high-end commercial projects

> Exposure to permitting processes across multiple jurisdictions

> Experience with SketchUp or Adobe Creative Suite

> Interest in growing into a broader design or project coordination role over time

WHY LUND HAUS

We are a small team that does high-quality, high-stakes work. The people who thrive here take ownership, communicate openly, and care about the end result as much as the process. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
